Solar panels

Why are solar panels worthwhile for my business?

Self-generated solar energy offers a double financial advantage: you consume less power from the grid AND you pay no contributions, distribution fees or taxes to the grid operator or the state.

By producing your own electricity, fluctuating energy prices have less impact on your costs and energy bills. This means more long-term security.

Thanks to an average payback period from 7 years and a 25-year production guarantee, you can enjoy 18 years of carefree pure profit. On average, with solar panels you count on a 14% return on investment.

A PV installation lowers your CO2 emissions and reinforces your company’s sustainable image, something that customers and business associates are placing increasing importance on.

Your PV installation in
7 steps

1Feasibility study

Our energy consultants will inspect your roof, analyse your consumption profile, calculate your energy requirements and check which options are technically and financially the most interesting for your company.

2Contract

We draw up a detailed contract with the scope, cost and schedule of the project so that you know exactly what to expect before the installation begins.

3Stability study

We carry out a stability study to ensure that your roof structure can support the solar modules. This step is crucial for the safety and durability of the system.

4Net study

The grid operator checks whether the requested capacity can be safely and efficiently connected to the electricity grid without compromising the stability and reliability of the grid.

5Final planning

Our engineers work out the final design and technical details, from the positioning of the control panels to the electrical configuration, to ensure that the installation is carried out efficiently, safely and according to requirements.

6Installation and inspection

Our fitters install your solar modules with minimal impact on your business processes. After thorough testing, we ensure that the system is ready for operation and arrange the AREI inspection to ensure that your system fulfils all legal standards and safety requirements.

7Maintenance and monitoring

To maximise the efficiency of your solar system, you can take out a maintenance and monitoring contract. We monitor the performance and carry out maintenance work as required to ensure that your system is always working optimally.

Frequently asked questions about industrial solar panels

As a company, am I obliged
to install solar panels?

From 30 July 2025, companies with an annual energy output of more than 1,000 MWh will be required to install a minimum of 12.5 Wp per m² of roof area.

Are solar panels tax
deductible for my business?

As a self-employed person or company, you can deduct part of your taxable profit: 8% for the one-off investment deduction and 13.5% for increased investment deduction. Moreover, you can spread the depreciation of your solar panels over several years, further reducing the final financial cost of your installation.

What conditions must my company
fulfil to install solar panels?
  1. Sufficient space: At least 150 m² of roof space in Flanders, 40 m² in Wallonia, or equivalent space on the ground.
  2. Right location: A roof facing south, south-east or south-west is ideal for maximum power output.
  3. Planning permission: Usually not required for roofs, but required for carports, ground installations and listed buildings.
  4. Stability: Your roof must be able to support at least 25 kg/m². A stability study and electrical installation inspection are mandatory.
